Check a player at night: mafia or town? Key figure—but revealing is risky.
How the role works — every situation
- Check. At night checks one player: “mafia / not mafia”. The Don reads as mafia. The Maniac reads as NOT mafia (he is a third force).
- Escort on the Sheriff: the check does not happen that night (he is “busy”).
- Sheriff dies: if a Student is in play, he becomes the Sheriff and inherits all past checks.
- Revealing by day is risky: a claimed Sheriff is the mafia's/maniac's first night target.
